Tradition gets cool at St. Peter Stiftskeller
Known to be one of the most beautiful destinations in the world, Salzburg raises the stakes in 2010 with the celebrations of the 90th anniversary of the Salzburg Festival. No less than 4 000 events are scheduled for this year offering a dizzying array of choice from star studded international performances to insider tips about local fringe happenings. Whatever is staged in this jewel of a city is exercised with inimitable flair and a fine combination of respect for traditions and courage for the new.

The St Peter Stiftskeller is situated in the heart of historic Salzburg and reputedly Central Europe’s oldest restaurant; it is also the home of the internationally famous Mozart Dinner Concerts, performed in their splendid Baroque Hall every day of the year except Christmas Eve. A Salzburg Institution, the Stiftskeller is a must-do destination for visiting artists, celebrities, dignitaries and revellers from all over the world – enjoying exceptional food and polished service in the unique ambiance of the 8 dining rooms and parlours as well as their divine courtyard restaurant for al fresco dining in summer.
From May 2010 St Peter Stiftskeller introduces a new addition to the Salzburg Concert Circuit with KULTurig, the city’s most sensuous music group. The programme promises an exceptional evening for stomach and soul in their atmospheric Petrusstube, where a set menu 3-course dinner is interspersed with three performances of music and lyrics.
This entirely new concept surprises with its sound and the ingenious contrast of traditional Salzburg music in contemporary arrangements – be prepared to be whisked away by a highly original interpretation of spirited waltzes, established ‘Landlers’ and mystic yodels, flirting with a dash of Tango, Bossa Nova and Dynamic Percussions. The programme encapsulates the sheer style and magic of Salzburg and is set to become a modern classic in the eternal Mozart City.
The KULTurig Dinner Concerts take place every Thursday at 7pm, from May 2010 onwards. Prices
are €51 for adults, €30 for children to 14 yrs, €38 for students.
